Cobber’s Tours has always been the leader as a battlefield tour company , for creating new and personalized tours , many others simply supply same old , same old tours , we understand that people want new and varied tours such as our flying tours, off road buggy , cycling and walking tours,

Our new tour offers the chance to go deep into the history of men who worked , for many who died, building the Thai Burma railway, or as it is known’ The DEATH RAILWAY’, it is estimated that 13000 allies died some say that the figure could be as high as 16000 also 100.000 slave laborers lost their lives to build the 420km railway. Brutality by the Japanese, the malaria, dysentery – starvation and cholera all took its toll on these prisoners of war from many countries.

This tour takes in a visit to the railway, hellfire pass, the famous bridge over the river Kwai , learn the real story This tour has been designed for the more outgoing person, Cobber’s never puts age limits on any tour that we do but can tell you that this tour is very demanding and we can tell you that clients will need to be in good health, not necessarily for the war part of the tour but for activities that make up the other side of this tour.

This is the type of tour that both male and female visitors will find interesting, normally our tours are directed at our Australian clients, but in this case it is a tour that will definitely suit our British visitors. Clubs , groups of friends , parties travelling together etc. can be catered for , our mini buses hold 10 people each (note- if it is 1 group travelling in one party we can be more flexible and adjust the tour to suit) the tour includes -

Starting from UK or France note - we do not include airfares but can advise on departures and returns to coincide with your tour, our meeting point to begin the tour is normally at Bangkok group , depending on time of arrival , first night spent in Bangkok with a sight- seeing tour of the city on 1st day ,overnight Bangkok , leaving next morning to go to the kwai bridge and museum walk the site of the original bridge made famous in the epic war drama Bridge on the River Kwai , we visit the site of the Chungkai cemetery which contains 1700 burials then to the Kanchanaburi war cemetery where the remains of 7000 allied soldiers rest and to the special memorial to the men who were cremated after the cholera outbreak , their names are remembered here , tonight we stay at a hotel near the bridge , next morning we visit hellfire pass and sections of the railway that are still accessible, then onto the excellent museum situated there to relive the history through artifacts and photographs , the terrible hardships endured by our brave troops during those dark days of our history , stay overnight local hotel . Today we start the scenic side of our tour , travelling through some beautiful countryside to venture deep into the jungle to make our way to the kwai river , here we will join our boat which will be home for the night , but before we rest up and eat’ a little adventure awaits , we will be taken by raft down the river where we then take to the water and have the chance to swim for a few km’s with the help of a small current to push us along , note-all safety equipment is supplied and all is under the supervision of experts so don’t worry you are in good hands. After our swim we visit and have time to spend in the magnificent waterfalls before returning to our boat to take our evening meal with a few relaxing drinks YOU WILL NEVER BE AS CLOSE TO NATURE AS THIS , next morning depart , the next days are spent looking at the true Thailand , floating markets , you have never shopped like this , temples of monkeys here hundreds of monkeys live amongst the temple ruins , spend time in their native habitat , feed them, photograph them , get back to nature , a visit to the snake farm with a fantastic live show is next , the elephant ride is now the order of the day , take a top box seat and ride these magnificent animals through jungle and river , time to relax at a hot spa for a few hours , natural hot spring baths out in the beauty of nature , these health spas need to be seen to be believed , pamper yourself like never before , during these few days we will also be visiting craft markets where you can by bargain souvenirs ,

Today we make our way to Pattaya where we will check into our central hotel and show you one of the most exciting cities in Thailand Next day is an excursion to local points of interest , temples of the Buddha where we will see one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand and visit this peaceful , tranquil and unspoilt religious part of Pattaya , the exciting markets and amazing shopping at unbelievable prices, next day we leave for Bangkok for the airport where we say goodbye to our travelling companions , alternatively you can stay on in Pattaya , this will not be included in the price but we can help to arrange hotels and return taxi, to the airport when you leave
